Korean Wallpaper

Why texture is the reason to see it in person

Korean wallpaper's defining quality is relief — a subtle physical texture you feel rather than see. On a screen, a stone-effect design and a flat printed imitation look identical. With your hand on it, they're obviously different.

That texture is also what makes it read as a finished wall rather than a printed sheet, and it's why most customers change their choice after visiting our Ubi showroom.

Choosing a design for a Singapore home

Feature wall or full room? A single feature wall behind the bed or sofa gives most of the visual impact for a fraction of the material. Full-room application suits smaller, neutral textures — a bold pattern across four walls closes a room in.

Match the light. North-facing HDB rooms get cooler light; warm-toned wallpaper balances it. Rooms with strong afternoon sun suit cooler, lighter tones and hold up better against fading.

Small bedrooms: vertical patterns and light textures make a ceiling feel higher. Heavy dark patterns work better in larger rooms or on a single wall.

Think about the whole room. Wallpaper, window blinds and the bed frame all sit in view together. Bringing a photo of your room makes the showroom visit far more productive.

Wall preparation and what affects the result

Wallpaper follows the contour of whatever is underneath — it doesn't hide problems, it reveals them.

• Damp or water staining must be resolved first. Wallpaper over active damp will bubble and lift.
• Flaking paint needs scraping and sealing.
• Freshly plastered or painted walls need curing time before papering.
• Existing wallpaper is a separate removal job — mention it when you enquire.

Quantities are calculated with a margin because wallpaper is produced in batches, and colour can vary slightly between them. Keep your offcuts — matching material from the same batch is the only way to repair a damaged section invisibly later.

Also available — customised wall murals

If you have a specific image in mind rather than a pattern, our customised wall murals are printed to your exact wall dimensions.

Frequently asked questions

How long does Korean wallpaper installation take?

A single plain or lightly textured feature wall typically takes a few hours. Patterned designs take longer because each strip must align with the last. A full bedroom usually takes most of a working day.

Does wallpaper survive Singapore's humidity?

Yes, in normal living areas with reasonable ventilation. The risk areas are bathrooms and unventilated kitchens, where persistent moisture can lift seams over time.

Can I sleep in the room the same night?

Usually yes — modern adhesives are low-odour. Avoid pushing furniture hard against the wall or hanging anything on it for the first few days while the adhesive cures fully.

How do I clean Korean wallpaper?

Wipe gently with a barely damp cloth. Don't scrub, soak, or use solvent cleaners. Blot spills promptly instead of rubbing.

Do you install wallpaper, or supply only?

We supply and install across Singapore. Installation on textured and patterned wallpaper is skilled work — seam alignment is where a professional job is obvious.

Where can I see Korean wallpaper samples in Singapore?

At our wallpaper shop in Ubi — 33 Ubi Avenue 3, Vertex, #01-16, open daily 11am–8pm.
