Which mattress type suits you?
| Type | Feel | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Pocketed spring | Supportive, responsive | Most sleepers, couples, warmer sleepers |
| Foam | Soft, cushioning | Side sleepers, lighter builds, pressure relief |
| Hybrid | Balanced | Foam comfort without losing airflow |
| Latex | Firm, bouncy | Durability, natural materials, humidity |
| Foldable | Firm, portable | Guests, floor sleeping, small rooms |
Browse pocketed spring mattresses if you want support first, or foam mattresses if you prefer a softer surface.
What to check before buying a mattress in Singapore
Firmness should match your sleeping position, not just preference. Side sleepers generally need more give at the hips and shoulders so the spine stays level. Back and stomach sleepers usually need firmer support. Heavier sleepers should size up on firmness — a mattress that feels medium-firm at 60kg feels soft at 95kg.
Heat matters more here than almost anywhere. Singapore's humidity sits high year-round, and a dense foam mattress with poor airflow will feel noticeably warmer by 3am. Pocketed spring and hybrid constructions let air move through the coil layer.
The bed frame is part of the system. Slat gaps wider than the manufacturer specifies will let the mattress dip between them, and that voids most warranties. Queen and king frames need a proper centre support reaching the floor. If you're replacing both, look at bed frames at the same time.
Ask three numbers about the warranty: total years, how many are non-prorated, and the sag threshold in centimetres. A 15-year warranty with a 4cm threshold is weaker than a 10-year one with 2.5cm.
Try before you buy at our Ubi showroom
Spend at least ten minutes on any mattress you're seriously considering. Support response only reveals itself once your body has fully settled — thirty seconds on the edge tells you nothing useful. Lie in your normal sleeping position, shoes off, head on a pillow.
Our Furniture showroom is at 33 Ubi Avenue 3, Vertex, #01-16, open daily 11am–8pm. Nobody will rush you off a mattress.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the best mattress brand in Singapore?
There is no single best brand — it depends on your body weight, sleeping position and how warm you sleep. Catnap Lair carries Dozi, MaxCoil, Fourstar, Lady Americana, Viro, Perfecta, Sleepynight and Dreamster so you can compare construction and feel side by side rather than choosing on brand name.
How long does a mattress last?
Most quality pocketed spring mattresses perform well for 8 to 10 years. Replace sooner if there's a visible body impression that doesn't recover, or if you consistently sleep better elsewhere.
Can I test mattresses before buying?
Yes. Every mattress in the range is on the floor at our Ubi showroom. We'd encourage testing three or four properly rather than briefly trying ten — beyond four, most people can no longer tell them apart.
Do you deliver across Singapore?
Yes, islandwide. Delivery timing is confirmed when you place your order, and we can schedule around renovation or move-in dates.
What mattress is best for a hot sleeper in Singapore?
Look for pocketed spring or hybrid construction with a breathable cover, or foam that's gel-infused or open-cell. Air needs somewhere to move. Dense memory foam without cooling treatment is the main culprit behind warm sleep locally.
